»Camaroes
We visited this restaurant. Read our review of Restaurante Camarões.
Av. Eng. Roberto Freire, 8790
Ponta Negra - Phone 219-4294
One of the busiest restaurants in Natal. Expect to wait for a table during lunch hours (after you are sit down, service is fast). Restaurant has air conditioned and private parking area. You can walk from Ponta Negra beach; nice view.
Camaroes means shrimps in Portuguese, and that is the especialty of this restaurant. They have their own shrimp farms, to guarantee the quality of their products.
There are several plates based on shrimps, sea food and fish. As of December 03, prices were R$30-40 for shrimps, R$45-50 for lobsters, R$25-35 for fish. Portions are enough to serve two hungry people. They also have one of the biggest variety of wines in Natal.

»Barraca do Caranguejo
Av. Erivan Franca, 1180 - Ponta Negra
We visited this place. Read our review of Barraca do Caranguejo.
The name means "Crab's Place". A few years ago, this restaurant was just a barrow on the sandbeach of Ponta Negra; when the government removed all the barrows from the sand, the owner bought a small space on the beach street; from there, the business grew to become a busy two floor restaurant. This says something about the quality of the food and service.
Today, the place is especialized in shrimps (although you can have crab and fish, too); for a fixed price (around U$6), you can eat as much shrimp as you can, prepared in several ways: fried, cooked, risotos, etc. If you enjoy shrimp, this is the place to go.
Caveat: they have a private parking loot, free if you spend more than R$20, but very expensive if you spend less than that. Not a very nice (or, IMHO, clever) attitude of theirs.

»Abade

Rua Hélio Galvão, 8828 Ponta Negra Phone:219-4469
Abades are the religious who live in abbeys.
Very nicely decorated, this restaurant is especialized in Portuguese cuisine and sea food.
Several plates of fish, shrimps, and lobster, prices ranging from R$30 to R$90; the Portuguese plates are mostly based on cod fish, prices around R$60 (serving two people).
Also, a very good wines selection.
