COTOVELO, PIRANGI DO NORTE, PIRANGI DO SUL

Distance from Natal: 21 Km (Cotovelo), 24 km (Pirangi do Norte) and 25 km (Pirangi do Sul)
Acess: highway RN 063; this road is best known as Rota do Sol, starts in Ponta Negra.


These three beaches are close to Natal and close to each other. Several natalenses spend weekends and holidays here.
There are several restaurants and pousadas; however, it´s easier to spend the day and return to Natal in the afternoon.
In Pirangi, visit the biggest cashew tree in the world (listed in the Guiness Book), which covers an area of 8,400 square meters; it's over 100 years old, and between December and February you can taste the cashews. The tree had a genetic modification, which caused the branches to grow sideways; when a branch touches the ground, a new ramification (without roots) begins to grow.
